Fourth annual event takes place at Wiltwyck Golf Club in Kingston, New York
NEW YORK — The Columbia men's golf team will host another edition of the Roar-EE Invitational on Saturday at Wiltwyck Golf Club in Kingston, New York. This is the fourth straight year the Lions will host this single-day, 36-hole event.
The field is scheduled to tee off in a shotgun format at 8:30 a.m. Fans looking to keep up with the action can follow along on the College Golf Scoreboard, powered by Clippd.
Fifteen teams and approximately 87 individual competitors are in this year's field. The teams include the host Lions, along with Canisius, Dartmouth, Cornell, Siena, Lafayette, Fordham, New Haven, Iona, St. Bonaventure, St. Peter's, Hofstra, Fairfield, Providence and defending champion St. Thomas Aquinas College.
Wiltwyck Golf Club will play as a par 72 at 6,790 yards. It is the premier family-oriented semi-private club in the mid-Hudson Valley, conveniently located off Exit 19 of the New York State Thruway. Originally founded in 1933, Wiltwyck relocated to its present location in 1954. Wiltwyck's golf course was designed by renowned golf course architect Robert Trent Jones, the "Dean of American golf course architects", and provides a best-in-class golf experience for golfers of all ages and levels.
This will be Columbia's 11th tournament of the 2025-26 season, the fourth it has hosted. The Lions are led by a pair of seniors and a pair of first years, all of whom carry stroke averages below 75. Senior George Rubelsky (74.04) leads the pack, followed closely behind by first year Neil Kulkarni (74.26), first year Alejandro Formosa (74.38) and senior Darren Pang (74.92).
Kulkarni is coming off a runner-up finish last weekend at the Princeton Invitational (April 11-12). The rookie from Ashburn, Virginia, posted back-to-back rounds of 1-over 72, followed by a final-round 2-under 69 to finish the tournament at even-par 213. It was his second runner-up finish of the season. He also owns a team-leading six top 25s.
Saturday's projected lineup will have Formosa, Rubelsky, Kulkarni, Pang and sophomore Ryan Keyes, who had his best career finish of 15th just a few weeks ago at the Columbia Spring Invitational (March 30). First year Sam Johnson and junior Hunter Po will also compete in the field as individuals.
Saturday's tournament will serve as the final tune-up for the Lions before next weekend's Ivy League Championship (April 24-26) at Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, New Jersey.
