NEW YORK -- The Columbia University women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to Boston University on Sunday at the Dick Savitt Tennis Center.
Sophomore Natasha Makarova battled to a tough 6-4 loss in the second set against Francine Whu at the No. 1 position for the Lions (3-5), while first-year Eliza Matache fought to a 6-4 defeat in her first set at No. 3. The Terriers were tough all afternoon, winning all three doubles matches and sweeping all six singles points.
Columbia returns to the courts on Friday, March 6 against Temple at the Dick Savitt Tennis Center at 2 p.m.
