NEW YORK -- After scoring her second career hat trick in a win over Manhattan last Friday, senior co-captain Sophie Reiser was named the Ivy League Women's Soccer Co-Player of the Week by the conference on Monday. Reiser shares the award, the fourth of her career, with Yale's Becky Brown. Reiser was also named the BigAppleSoccer.com Women's College Player of the Week and the ECAC Offensive Player of the Week, for the week ending Sept. 13.
The reigning Ivy League Player of the Year, Reiser tallied goals in the 44th, 48th and 65th minutes against the Lady Jaspers, and narrowly missed a fourth goal as her shot went just high in the 78th minute.
The three markers helped Reiser climb into a tie for fourth all-time in career goals at Columbia with 22, and her six points move her into third place at 68. The Seattle native stands two points shy of second place on the all-time points list, behind Kerry Martin '00CC, and one goal back of third place (Kristin Friedholm '90CC).
Reiser and the Lions return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 15, as they take on Iona at Columbia Soccer Stadium beginning at 7 p.m.
