The former Ivy Defensive Player of the Year inks her second professional deal
NEW YORK – Former Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year and Columbia women's soccer standout Courtney Ruedt '25CC signed a contract earlier this month with Kristianstads DFF of Damallsvenskan, Sweden's top division. It is a one-year deal and will run through the duration of the 2026 season.
"I am beyond excited to be joining KDFF," Ruedt said. "The club's focus on player development while maintaining high ambitions to win really stood out to me. I also love how much this town supports women's football - it made this decision even more special. I can't wait to get started!"
Last summer, Ruedt inked a one-year deal with HB Køge of Denmark's top division. She was a key part of the team's defense during the 2025-26 season, helping lead the team to a first-place finish and a record of 10-2-2. The club also made appearances in the Danish Cup and UEFA Women's Europa Cup qualifying rounds.
"I am represented by Apollo Summit, and they have been so helpful through the entire process," Ruedt said. "I am also incredibly grateful to Tracey, Jack, and Amphone for their support and guidance, both on and off the field."
Ruedt started all 16 games for Columbia in 2024 and helped the Lions force six shutouts. In 2023, she played a critical role in Columbia's defensive effort that collected 10 shutouts and was named Honorable Mention All-Ivy and to the Ivy League All-Tournament Team. She went on to lead the Lions to their first NCAA Tournament win in program history over Rutgers.
For her career, she appeared in 50 games and made 48 starts, tallying 4,251 minutes.
