NEW YORK – Columbia first-year Jacob Sienko took part in the 2011 USA Cross Country Championships in San Diego, Calif., this weekend, finishing 11th overall, and qualifying for the North America, Central America and Caribbean Athletic Association (NACAC) Cross Country Championships. Sienko will travel to Trinidad & Tobago as a member of Team USA, Saturday, February 19th, to take part in the 6 km race. 

Sienko, a Warwick, R.I. native, competed in the Junior Men's race at the USA Cross Country championships, finishing 11th overall, with a time of 25:31. Complete results from that race are available here.

Sienko is not the first Lion to participate in the prestigious race. Columbia graduate Delilah DiCrescenzo '05CC, won the open women's race in 2010, helping lead the Team USA women to a title that year.
