Columbia University unveils the relaunch of their official athletic website www.gocolumbialions.com, with a newly designed online experience for Lions fans.
Powered by Digital Media Partner NeuLion (TSX:NLN), the new official website has a sleeker look and brings video to the forefront with a modernized appearance and original design elements. It incorporates more audiovisual content, including video that plays directly on the homepage and easier navigation. Fans also enjoy new tools featuring recent content, upcoming events, ticket sales, an official team merchandise store, and social media integration throughout the site.
The new site makes it even easier to access all the latest information for this Ivy League school. The new format includes tools integrating www.gocolumbialions.com with the official Columbia Athletics Facebook (www.facebook.com/ColumbiaAthletics) and Twitter (www.twitter.com/gocolumbialions) pages. The revamped website will continue to be the primary source of information for fans to access exclusive Columbia Athletics news, information and highlights.
“We are excited to continue the evolution of our official website, gocolumbialions.com” said Dr. M. Dianne Murphy, Columbia's Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and Physical Education. “Embracing new information technologies, especially social media, is important for our outreach to our fans, friends, students, alumni and parents.”
As the true end-to-end technology service provider for delivering live and on-demand content to any Internet-enabled device, NeuLion has created an online destination for a video, advertising, online store and more that gives fans the ability to engage in a TV-like experience online.
“Creating the next generation fan experience and online digital business are a high priority for us with Columbia and in the college sector,” said Ed O'Brien, Vice President of NeuLion College.
Also, coming soon for Columbia are premium apps for the Apple iPhone and Android mobile devices, which will feature live audio broadcasts of Columbia football and basketball games. Also launching this fall will be dodgefitnesscenter.com, a dedicated site for campus recreation and fitness.
