NEW YORK - The Columbia men's soccer team had much to celebrate this past weekend, as two former Lions were inducted to the Columbia Athletics Hall of Fame, last Thursday.
Amy Aly '85 CC and Len Renery '71 CC were both honored by Columbia, for their outstanding careers on the pitch. Last Thursday night, over 50 alumni and friends helped celebrate at the Hall of Fame induction for Aly and Renery.
On Saturday, as Columbia took on Dartmouth, the pair were welcomed by over 200 friends of the program and alumni at a social event at the Baker Athletics Complex. Aly and Renery were honored at halftime of the match, as the Men's Soccer Board of Directors presented the two Hall of Fame members with special gifts from the board and the department.
"It was a very special weekend for our entire athletics department and particularly for the men's soccer program," said Head Coach Kevin Anderson. "To honor and celebrate two tremendous Hall of Fame inductees in the manner in which our alumni and families did is a testament to the dedication of many. Our growth and support over the last few years is tremendous and credit goes to our Columbia Men's Soccer Board of Directors for their commitment, time, and resources to make this possible. Congrats to Amr and Len for joining the best of the best, well done!"
