The Lions defense notched its eighth first-half shutout of the season stifling the Leopards attack. The Lions held the Leopards to only two shots in the period and continued an aggressive attack on offense with 9-2 shot advantage, including five shots on goal.

The Columbia offense continued to fired a number close scoring opportunities, including a controversial missed goal call by Madeline Linde who fired a shot with 4:20 remaining, that by some angles seemed like a score. However, the officials determined it was not a score. Unhappy with the call, head coach Tracey Bartholomew pleaded her case with the officials which resulted in the first red card and ejection.
The battle continued in overtime with the Lions ramping up the aggression on offense. Columbia played corner kicks in the extra minutes and two strong shots by Emma Anderson and Amaris Hemmings. However, the Leopards defense hung tough to keep both teams scoreless for Columbia's third draw of the season.
The Columbia defense continues to impress as they shutout their fifth-straight opponent, Allison Spencer capped the night with a save and now 414 consecutive minutes of shutout play. Whitehouse was clutch for the Lions in goal from the second half through the overtime period with three saves.
Up next, Columbia will return to Rocco B. Commisso Soccer Stadium for the first time this season as they host Princeton on Saturday, Oct. 15 as 7 p.m.
