PRINCETON, N.J. – For the fourth time in five weeks, Columbia baseball has earned a major Ivy League weekly honor as Randell Kanemaru was named Player of the Week.
Kanemaru returned to the lineup on Saturday against Yale after missing 13 games due to injury. He hit hit .600 (9-for-15), slugged 1.133 and posted seven RBIs to help Columbia split a pair of doubleheaders against Yale and Brown. Kanemaru went a combined 4-for-8, homering in each contest, and added five RBIs against the Bulldogs. The next day, he compiled five more hits and drove in two more, powering the Lions to a sweep of the Bears. Kanemaru had multiple hits in all four games and knocked in two or more runs in three games.
Columbia wraps up a five-game home stand Wednesday, April 6 against St. John's for a single game. First pitch is slated for 3:30 p.m. and the contest will be broadcast live on the Ivy League Digital Network and ESPN3.
