Women's XC Caps off Stellar Season with 28th place National Finish

Columbia women's cross country capped off its stellar season with a 28th place national finish at the NCAA Championships in Louisville this morning.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Columbia women's cross country capped off its stellar season with a 28th place national finish at the NCAA Championships in Louisville this morning. 

This was Columbia's first NCAA Championship appearance since 2005.

Nell Crosby was the first to cross the line for Columbia in the 6k race in 141st place at 21:01.37. Sarah Hardie belted across the line at 21:06.90 in 153rd place and Fiona Danieu was not far behind in 165th place at 21:12.32. This was Danieu's fasted 6k of the year.

Erin Gregoire was the fourth Columbia finisher in 188th place at 21:25.59 and Erin Melly came aross at 21:31.94 in the 193rd spot.

This was the last collegiate cross country race at Columbia for seniors Nell Crosby, Sarah Hardie and Erin Melly, who led the program to its first Ivy League title since 2005. 

Columbia edged out fellow Ivy Dartmouth who finished in 29th place.
