BRONX, N.Y. - The Columbia women's soccer team faced local foe Fordham ( 3-2-3) on Friday, Sept. 15 in its first of two road matches this weekend. Led by a two goals by Carlie Wagner, one in each perod, and the Lions (3-3-1) were dealt a 2-0 defeat.

In the 12th minute, Wagner notched her first goal to get on the board first for an early 1-0 lead. While fending off the pressure of the Columbia offensive that held a 12-7 shot advantage behind a persistent effort from junior forward Emma Anderson who led the Lions with four shots, the Rams scored their final goal in the 62nd minute. Despite earning seven corner kicks and four shots on goal, the Lions fell short in finding the back of the net on Friday evening.

Up next, Columbia (3-3-1) will travel to Philadelphia on Sunday, Sept. 17 to take on Saint Joseph's in a 1 p.m. match.
