NEW YORK – The Columbia men's soccer team will be looking to secure a second Ivy League win when it travels to Philadelphia to take on Penn Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. on ESPN+.

LAST TIME OUT
Columbia was unable to overcome a tough Pitt team in its second loss of the season that involved a lightning delay on Tuesday. The Panthers knocked in a score in the second half, as the Lions were unable to connect on five shots in the second 45 minutes. In the season opener with Kentucky, Columbia was delayed by close to an hour at the jump in what ended up being a 1-0 loss to a team that is now ranked No. 4 in the country, and recently knocked off No. 2 Indiana.Â
SEASON AT A GLANCEÂ
After a 3-1 win over Brown in its Ivy League opener, the Lions are tied for first in the Ivy League with Harvard and Cornell. A pair of goals for
Danny Laranetto against Brown saw the junior earn Player of the Week honors in the conference. It's the second time this season the honor has gone to a Lion, after classmate
John Denis earned it after a game-winner at No. 11 Butler.

Kynan Rocks leads the Ivy League and team with three goals, while Laranetto follows behind with two.

Vana Markarian, Denis,
Francisco Agrest, and
Beto Carrillo have one each. In net, Castanheira has played every minute thus far, going 4-2-1 with 18 saves, 5 goals against, and a 0.68 goals against average. He also second in the Ivy League for shutouts with three, and is two shutouts away from securing Columbia's career shutout record.

SERIES HISTORY
Columbia will be looking to edge ahead in a series that currently stands at 33-33-6. The Lions haven't lost to Penn since 2011 and will want to build on last year's 3-0 win which saw goals from Mott,
Arthur Bosua, and Denis.

ABOUT PENN
Penn has had a 2-2-3 start to the season, falling 1-0 to Cornell in its last outing which took double overtime before finding a result. Sophomore Alex Touche leads the team in goals with two, followed by one each from Senior Jerel Blades and Sophomore Joey Bhangdia. Junior Brandon Bartel leads the team in assists with two. In net, Senior Scott Forbes has played every minute thus far, going 2-2-3 with 37 saves, 5 goals against, and a 0.63 goals against average.

After starting out on the road in eight of its first nine contests, Columbia return to Rocco B. Commisso Stadium for three home games, starting with Princeton on Saturday, Oct. 13 at 1 p.m. on ESPN+.
