Daniel Core, Arjun Puri Lead Lions at Bucknell Invitational

Core, Puri tie for 14th place at three-over-par 143, Lions move from 11th place to ninth in team competition.
LEWISBURG, Pa.—First-year Daniel Core and sophomore Arjun Puri both tied for 14th place in leading the Columbia men's golf team at the two-day, 36-hole Bucknell Invitational. Final results can be found via Birdie Fire at this link.
Core finished in 14th place with a three-over-par 69-74-143. On Monday, Core was on fire on the front nine as he recorded three birdies (holes 1, 3 and 9) and six pars for a three-under-par 33. He cooled off on the back nine, but still carded a birdie for his 69. On Tuesday, he finished with two birdies.
Competing as an individual, Puri moved from 24th to 14th place and finished with a three-over-par 72-71-143. On Monday, he ended day with 16 pars and shot three birdies including back-to-back on holes 15 and 16 on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, Columbia moved from 11th place into ninth place in the team competition. The Lions shot a 294 on Monday and a 291 on Tuesday for a combined 25-over-par 595. The Bucknell Golf Club (par-70, 6,224 yards).
Sophomore Youn Sung Kim improved from 44th place on Monday all the way up to 25th on Tuesday. He finished with a six-over-par 74-72-146. He carded 16 pars on Tuesday for his 72.
Sophomore Daniel Terrell also made a big jump from 60th place on Monday to 36th place on Tuesday. He finished at eight-over-par 76-72-148 and used three birdies to move up.
Junior Nick Brisebois and sophomore John Robertson both placed 48th at 10-over-par. Brisebois shot a 75-75-150 and Robertson 77-73-150. Robertson moved up into 48th place from 73rd place on Monday.
Hosted by Bucknell, the invitational features 18 teams. Bucknell had two teams entered and was joined by Canisius, Columbia, Fairleigh Dickinson, Hampton, Holy Cross, Humber (Canada), Iona, La Salle, Manhattan, Monmouth, Navy, Ottawa (Canada), Saint Francis Brooklyn, Saint Francis (Pa.), Temple and Wayne State.
The event is the fourth and final tournament that the Lions will compete in this fall. After this week's competition, Columbia will open spring play at the Invitational at Savannah Harbor in Savannah, Ga. on Feb. 16-17.
