John Robertson Places 26th, Leads Lions at Invitational at Savannah Harbor

Robertson moves up 31 spots in standings after carding a 71 on Sunday; Lions conclude weekend with three par or under par rounds.
SAVANNAH, Ga.—Sophomore John Robertson placed 26th individually as he combined to shoot a six-over-par 75-76-71-222 in leading the Columbia men's golf team Sunday at the Invitational at Savannah Harbor. The event marked Columbia's first competition of the spring 2019 season.
Columbia finished the two-day, 54-hole event in 18th place with a 49-over-par 309-305-299-913 score. On Sunday, Columbia's five golfers combined to post its best team score of the weekend, an 11-over-par 299.
With his 71 on Sunday, Robertson moved up 31 spots in the standings to No. 26 overall. He fired three birdies and 13 pars on the day and bogeyed only two holes. He was especially efficient on the front nine. For the weekend, Robertson carded six birdies.
Sophomore Youn Sung Kim concluded the weekend in 64th place after shooting a 12-over-par 81-71-76-228. After shooting an 81 in the first round, Kim moved up 17 spots in the standings with a 1-under-par 71 in the second round. He finished the second round with four birdies on holes 1, 4 and back-to-back on 10 and 11. He concluded the weekend with a team-best eight birdies.
Sophomore Arjun Puri finished in 71st place with a 13-over-par 72-79-78-229. Puri shot a 72 (Even) and was in ninth place after the first round before carding a 79 in the second round. He holed four birdies on Saturday, including three in the first round (holes 4, 10 and 14). Puri finished the weekend with six birdies.
Rounding out Columbia scorers were first-year Daniel Core, who finished in 88th place with an 84-79-74-237 and junior Nick Brisebois, who placed 91st with an 81-79-80-240.
South Carolina Beaufort won the team competition with an eight-over-par 295-295-282-872, while Washington & Lee's Brian Peccie won the individual title with a four-under-par 72-69-71-212.
Eighteen teams competed in the event including Austin Peay, Belmont, Bethune-Cookman, Butler, Columbia, Delaware, Florida A&M, Jacksonville State, North Dakota State, Northern Kentucky, Omaha, Savannah State, South Carolina Beaufort, Tennessee Tech, Valparaiso, Washington & Lee, host William & Mary and Wright State.
