NEW YORK—Three women's tennis players— first-year Christie Wan (singles & doubles), first-year Jennifer Kerr (singles) and senior Adi Milstein (doubles)—earned All-Ivy League Second Team honors as the conference announced its 2017-18 women's tennis awards on Thursday afternoon. The awards and honors were voted upon by the league's eight head coaches.
Wan earned Second Team All-Ivy League honors in both singles and doubles. As a first-year, she played the entire season at No. 1 singles for Columbia and compiled a 9-20 overall and 1-5 Ivy League record. In doubles, Wan teamed with Milstein for a 21-10 overall record and 3-2 Ivy League record. The duo finished 8-8 in dual meets on the year and earned a national ranking in doubles. During fall, competition, the duo advanced to the finals of the Northeast Regional with a third place finish (4-1 record) and claimed the Cissie Leary Invitational title with a 4-0 record. Wan and Milstein won eight straight matches to start the 2017-18 season. Wan is a Rowland Heights, Calif. native.
As a first-year, Kerr earned Second Team All-Ivy League honors in singles. As Columbia's No. 2 singles player, Kerr finished the year with a 21-9 overall record and 6-1 Ivy League record. She led the squad in dual match wins (15) and Ivy League victories (six), ranked second on the squad in singles wins (21) and was 13-3 at the No. 2 singles position. She also won six straight matches late in the season. Kerr is a Carlsbad, Calif. native who was honored with the Evelyn Houseman Lifetime Junior Sportsmanship Award earlier in the year.
A senior, Milstein closes out her career as a two-time All-Ivy League Second Team honoree in doubles. This year, Milstein teamed with first-year Christie Wan for a 21-10 overall record. Milstein ends her collegiate career with a 32-31 career singles record, 46-38 doubles record and finished 14-6 in singles this season. A 2016-17 ITA Scholar-Athlete award winner and two-year team captain, Milstein will graduate in May with a Political Science degree. She is a Boca Raton, Fla. native.
Columbia concluded its 2017-18 season in third place in the Ivy League with a 4-3 record, along with a 12-8 overall dual match record.
