Sophia Strachan Takes Silver In Compound At NOCC

Sophia Strachan capped Columbia's 2018 National Outdoor Collegiate Championships with a silver medal podium finish in the individual compound on Sunday, May 20th. Strachan defeated three opponents in the elimination rounds to earn the national runner-up finish, including a semifinals' win over teammate Brittney Shin.

NEWBERRY, Fla. - Sophia Strachan capped Columbia's 2018 National Outdoor Collegiate Championships with a silver medal podium finish in the individual compound on Sunday, May 20th. Strachan defeated three opponents in the elimination rounds to earn the national runner-up finish, including a semifinals' win over teammate Brittney Shin.

This performance marks the second runner-up national finish for Strachan this season after capturing the silver medal in the compound of the inaugural head-to-head finals of the 49th U.S. National Indoor Championships in March.
