NEW YORK — After returning to the win column last weekend with a thrilling double overtime victory over Cornell, the Columbia women's soccer team looks to keep the momentum alive Saturday, traveling to Providence, R.I., to take on the Brown Bears at 3:30 p.m. ET.
 
The match will be streamed live on ESPN+, while live stats for the match can be found at BrownBears.com.
 
Columbia is 4-4-1 this season, including a 1-0 mark in Ivy League competition after taking down Cornell, 2-1, in the conference opener on Saturday. Senior forward Rachel Alexander scored the equalizing goal in the 87th minute before assisting on Maddie Temares' golden goal in the first minute of double overtime. The win marked the Lions' third-straight victory in league openers, all of which have come over the Big Red.
 
The Lions are one of just three league teams to open up the conference slate with a win. Columbia has improved upon its Ivy League finishes in each of the last four seasons, including a second-place result in 2017 after going 5-1-1 in league matches.
 
Brown is off to a 4-5-1 start to the season after dropping its league opener on Saturday, a 2-0 result at Dartmouth. The Bears are led in scoring by junior midfielder Abby Carchio with five goals and 11 points on the season.
 
Despite winning the last seven contests between the two programs, Columbia trails in the overall series with the Bears, 11-14-7. Last season, the Lions earned a 1-0 overtime win over Brown in New York.
 
Continuing Ivy League play next weekend, Columbia will return to the road Friday, Oct. 5, traveling to Philadelphia to take on Penn at 4 p.m.
