Tyler Italiano claims fifth place (25:04) and Dominick Dyer finishes in 25th (25:39) to lead Lions.
BETHLEHEM, Pa.- The Columbia men's cross country men claimed sixth place today out of 44 team entries with an average time of 25:54 at the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University. The women finished 39th in today's 6k field.
For the men, senior Tyler Italiano came in front for the Lions as he placed fifth overall with a time of 25:04. Following closely behind was sophomore Dominic Dver with with a time of 25:39 for 25th place. Owen Bishop took 44th place with a time of 25:59. First year Finn Waters finished closely behind with a 26:21 and a 71st spot, and sophomore Solomon Fountain rounded out the top five runners for Columbia in 75th place with a time of 26:26.
The women's top finisher was senior Annie Fanta, finishing 63rd in the field with a time of 21:51, followed by junior Hana Sun with a 22:46, and Emily Digman with a 22:58 finish.
The next race for the Lions is back on home course at Van Cortlandt Park for the Metropolitan Cross Country Championships on October 12 at 10:30 a.m.
