3. STATISTICAL TRENDS
4. ZEITZ'S FIRST-MINUTE STRIKES
Columbia has scored twice this season in the first minute of the match and both goals have come by first-year Uri Zeitz. The latest occurrence came on Sunday against Penn as Zeitz sent in his third goal of the season just 38 seconds into the contest. The goal was the fastest by a Lion since Oct. 1, 2005, when John Mulhern scored just 34 seconds into a match against Brown. Zeitz's other first-minute goal came in a 2-0 win over Monmouth, as the first-year scored with only 54 seconds on the clock.
5. THE SERIES
The all-time series between Columbia and Princeton dates back to 1912. Columbia holds a 33-23-11 advantage and has fallen just once in its last five matchups against the Tigers. That loss came last season, when Princeton scored twice in the first 30 minutes and held off a Columbia rally, 2-1. The Lions are 2-1-1 in their last four trips to Princeton.
ABOUT THE OPPONENT
Princeton entered Ivy League play riding four straight wins before being shut out at Dartmouth, 1-0, on Oct. 5. They bounced back with a 3-0 win against Delaware but were only able to come away with one point last Saturday at Brown. Danny Hampton saved the Tigers from a potential second straight league defeat with an 87th-minute equalizer. Walker Gillespie leads the team with five goals – tied for second-most in the Ivy League – and 11 points. The Tigers have scored a league-best 24 goals on the season and average 2.18 goals per game.
