NEW YORK – After four games on the road, the Columbia women's lacrosse team returns home Saturday, March 9, for its Ivy League home opener, facing off against Cornell at 1 p.m. ET.

The Lions enter the weekend at 2-4 (0-1), coming off a hard-fought 10-13 loss at Lehigh on Tuesday. Senior midfielder

Alexandria Absey led Columbia in their scoring efforts against the Mountain Hawks, knocking in three goals apiece. Sophomore attacker
Chelsea Witteck also added a pair of goals for the Lions.

On the season, Ewertsen leads the team in nearly every statistical category with 13 goals, seven assists, 20 ground balls, 32 draw controls and 20 caused turnovers. Her 3.33 caused turnovers per game ranks second among NCAA Division I players in the category and first in the Ivy League. She also leads the conference with 3.33 ground balls per game.

For the first time this season, Columbia saw only one goalkeeper in action at Lehigh on Tuesday with junior
Abby Roberts making a career-high 11 saves in the outing.

SCOUTING CORNELL
The Big Red visit the Big Apple with a 2-2 overall mark, and 1-0 Ivy record under head coach Jenny Graaf. After opening the season at 0-2, Cornell has won two-straight with a pair of home victories over Harvard and Colgate. Senior attacker Sarah Phillips leads the Big Red with 12 goals on the season.

In the all-time series, Cornell leads 21-0.

ON DECK
The Lions will have a full week off from game action for the first time this season, returning to competition on Saturday, March 16 when they travel to face UConn. Opening draw is slated for 11:30 a.m. ET in Storrs, Connecticut.
