MANHEIM, Pa. — The Columbia archery team opened up its 2020 indoor campaign Saturday, traveling to Manheim, Pennsylvania, to compete in the Easton Youth & Collegiate Trophy Tournament. First-year
Sachiko Keane notched her first collegiate win in the compound division to highlight the outing.
Â
"I'm pleased with the results of our first event," said Columbia head coach
Derek Davis, who enters his 16th season leading the Lions. "This is a major tournament, but only the first year they've had a collegiate division. The turnout was great and I think it will grow next year."
Â
Keane posted a winning score of 640 in compound to lead Columbia in her first collegiate outing. Returning All-American senior
Sophia Strachan turned a fourth-place performance in the event with a score of 530.
Â
In recurve, three Lions posted top-five showings led by a silver-worthy finish from sophomore
Meghan Collins with a score of 564. Junior
Christine Kim followed closely behind, placing third with a 560, and sophomore
Savannah Ward rounded out the top five in fifth with a score of 538.

With the schedule now in full swing, the Lions will head to the New Jersey State Championships on Saturday, Feb. 1 in Hamilton, New Jersey.
