NEW YORK – The Columbia women's lacrosse team continues Ivy League action this Saturday, March 7, traveling to Ithaca, New York, to take on Cornell at 1 p.m. ET at Schoellkopf Field.

The Lions (0-5, 0-1 Ivy) are coming off a hard-fought battle against Temple on Wednesday, falling 15-12. After trailing by as many as four goals, Columbia came back to tie the game twice in the second half before the Owls pulled away late. Junior attacker
Alexandria Absey matched her career-best with five goals in the game, while junior attacker
Chelsea Witteck added three goals, and
Fallon Quinn and
Devon Stuzin added two apiece.

In the outing, Columbia had a 19-10 advantage in draw controls, while going 7-of-8 from the 8-meter arc.

Absey leads Columbia will 11 points on the season behind 10 goals and one assists, while Witteck and senior midfielder
Orna Madigan have matching stat lines of six goals and two assists for eight points each.

SCOUTING CORNELL
The Big Red (3-2, 1-0 Ivy) are coming off an 11-8 loss at Colgate on Tuesday, after defeating Harvard, 9-8, in their Ivy opener on Saturday.

Senior attacker Caroline Allen leads the Big Red with 19 points on 16 goals and three assists, while first-year Katie Castiello follows with 14 points behind 11 goals and a trio of assists. Senior goalkeeper Katie McGahan has seen all the action in net, with 40 saves and a 12.40 goals against average.

UP NEXT
Columbia returns home on Wednesday, March 11, for a 3 p.m. matchup with UConn. The game will be the Lions' last home contest until April 5.
