Columbia Travels to Princeton before Hosting Yale in Home-Opener

Lions return to Percy Uris in weekend dual-meet series.
NEW YORK -- The Columbia men's swim and dive team will travel across the Hudson to Princeton on Friday before returning home to Percy Uris for the first time in nearly two years to host Yale on Saturday. Friday's meet is set to begin at 5:00 P.M. while Saturday's is scheduled for 1:00 P.M..
Columbia successfully opened the 2021-22 season last Saturday, defeating Penn 157-143 in Philadelphia. In his first meet since the 2018-2019 season, First Team All-American Jonathan Suckow set pool records in both the one and three meter dive events.
Strong performances by returning swimmers Jonas Kistorp and Thomas Shepanyk paced the Lions' victory, combining for three first place finishes and a total of 27 points. Stanford Li made a splash in his first collegiate appearance, contributing a team-leading 22 points with wins in the 500 and 1,000 freestyle events.
Princeton
The 2020 Ivy League Championship runner-ups, Princeton, have already enjoyed significant success this season. Last weekend, the Tigers traveled to Providence to face off against Brown and Dartmouth in a season-opening tri-meet. Princeton dominated the event, toppling Brown 203-97 and Dartmouth 237-59.
Notable names include Raunak Khosla, Dylan Porges, and Brian Lou who finished first in every individual event they entered. Rookie Tyler Hong opened his collegiate campaign with victories in the 100 and 200 backstroke events.
Princeton swept the diving competition claiming the top three spots on both events. Off the one meter, senior captain Colten Young claimed first (385.20) followed by twin rookies Taso and George Callanan. Taso conquered the three meter event (385.20) followed by Young and junior Griffin Brookes in second and third, respectively.
Yale
The Bulldogs' have not seen dual-meet action since the first of February, 2020, just weeks before finishing third at the 2020 Ivy League Championships. Three members of Yale's 400 freestyle relay team return in senior Philippe Marcoux, junior Joseph Page, and sophomore Conner Lee. Page also swam a leg of the championship-winning 200 free relay team while Lee earned a second place finish in the 100 butterfly.
Led by head swim coach Jim Henry and dive coach Lindsay Iordache, 15 Bulldogs will make their first collegiate appearances on Saturday.

On Friday, Nov. 19, Columbia will travel to Harvard for a 1:00 P.M. meet.
