NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Powered by 13 combined first-place finishes for the men and women, Columbia Track & Field put together a collection of strong performances at the Dartmouth-Yale-Columbia Ivy League tri-meet on Saturday, hosted by Yale at Coxe Cage.
The Columbia women locked up five first-place finishes, while the men collected eight top finishes in Columbia's first meet of the season full of only Ivy League competition.
On the track,
Serena Landsman (60-Meter Hurdles);
Sydney Goldson (400-Meter Dash);
Nikki Vanasse (One Mile Run);
Matt Wabunoha (60m H);
Jahi Hernandez (400m) and the men's 4x800m Relay squad of

Sydney Goldson posted the first time of her career, taking first with a time of 55.97 and in the 60m Hurdles Landsman posted a career-best time of 9.28 en route to her first top finish of her young collegiate career.
A pair of familiar names for Columbia got wins in the field, as Jordahl-Henry, the reigning indoor Ivy League high jump champion easily got herself another win, clearing 5-06.00/1.68m en route to a first-place finish. While Hatcher, in the triple jump, launched herself 40-10.25/12.45m to lock up another top finish for the Lions.
HOW IT HAPPENED (MEN): On the track Columbia's men were solid, and it was started with a first-place time of 8.59 seconds by Wabunoha in the 60m Hurdles. The top finish was Wabunoha's first top finish of his collegiate career.
Posting a personal best time of 49.73, Hernandez tied Yale's Harry Grindle in the 400m for yet another Columbia top finish, while the "A" squad of Borden, McKenzie, Fountain and Danzi crossed the line at 7:42.90 in the 4x800m Relay to collect another Columbia first-place finish.
In the field, Columbia's men locked up another two wins, as
Kam Lambert, in his first career collegiate meet, launched 42-07.00/12.98m in the triple jump to finish first. While in the high jump, Ciarelli cleared 6-00.75/1.85m to finish first for yet another Lions top mark.
