Lions take seventh in 54-hole event at Liberty National
JERSEY CITY, N.J. — Nathan Han carded a final-round 1-over-par 73 to earn a tie for first place at the Georgetown Intercollegiate. The event, which was held over a span of two days at Liberty National Golf Club, concluded Tuesday afternoon.
After posting back-to-back rounds of 69 on Monday, Han entered Tuesday's final 18 holes with a two-shot lead at 6 under. The junior eagled his opening 10th, fell back to even on the day with bogeys on 11 and 13, but then posted four birdies over a seven-hole stretch between the back and front nine. His birdie at the par-4 third moved him to 4-under on the day and 10-under for the tournament, five shots clear of the field.
The final six holes of Han's tournament proved to be challenging. After a bogey on four and two pars on five and six, Han suffered a double-bogey six on the 484-yard seventh, followed by back-to-back bogeys at the eighth and closing ninth to drop back to 5-under for the tournament. It was good enough to tie for first with Duke's Ian Siebers. Siebers was declared the winner in a scorecard tiebreak.
The tournament concludes the competition portion of Columbia's fall season. However, the Lions will host an exhibition against Trinity College Dublin on Friday, October 28, at The Saint Andrew's Golf Club in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York.

Han wasn't the only highlight for the Lions on Tuesday. DJ Francey tied his season-low round with a 4-under-par 68, climbing 14 spots to finish in a tie for seventh at even par. His final round included four birdies, two bogeys and an eagle two at the 325-yard, par-4 16th. The top 10 was his second of the fall season.Taking home more hardware!
