Victoria Patterson clocked a 6K time of 20:26.1 to pace Columbia cross country at the PSU National Open, helping the Lion women finish fifth overall while
Tyler Berg's eighth-place finish in the 5.2M helped the men finish eighth overall in the race run on Friday, at the PSU Cross Country Course.

At the IC4A/ECAC Cross Country Championships, run at Van Cortlandt Park, the women finished 19th and the men posted a 17th place finish.

Patterson slotted into the second-place spot during the middle portion of the race, holding off the top competition on her way to finishing the 6K in 20:26.1 and finishing inside the top three in only her third collegiate race. Joining Patterson inside the top 20 was
Elia Ton-That, who clocked a 16th-place time of 21:05.8.

On the men's side, Berg finished his race inside the top 10, crossing the line in eighth with a time of 25:11.7. Columbia's next-best finisher was
Michael Danzi, who clocked a time of 26:17.9 to finish 39th.

UP NEXT: Columbia takes the next weekend off before heading to Van Cortlandt Park for the Ivy League Cross Country Heps. The race is set to get going at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 28.
