NEW YORK —
Five Columbia Athletics programs will compete away from home this Friday-Sunday, as women's tennis, field hockey, volleyball, fencing and women's soccer hit the road.

WOMEN'S TENNIS
Columbia women's tennis travels to Providence, Rhode Island for the Brown Hidden Duals beginning on Friday. Columbia plays Harvard on Friday, Brown on Saturday and Boston College on Sunday. The Lions are coming off an eventful and impressive weekend where the teams were split at two different locations. Some players were at the Fordham Invitational, helping Columbia win 10 out of 11 matches, while others were at the ITA Super Regionals in New Haven.
Winta Tewolde and
Shivani Amineni made it to the final round of doubles play, automatically qualifying for the ITA Fall National Championships, which are scheduled to begin on November 2 in San Diego, California.

FIELD HOCKEY
Columbia field hockey (5-9, 3-2 Ivy) enters the weekend tied for the third-best conference record in the Ivy League. This weekend, the Lions will face a pair of Pennsylvania teams, hitting the road for Philadelphia to play Penn (4-10, 2-3 Ivy) on Friday at 5 p.m. before driving to Bethlehem to battle a non-conference opponent in Lehigh (10-6, 3-2 Patriot) on Sunday at 1 p.m. The Lions split their games last weekend, winning in dramatic fashion against Dartmouth.
Lily Baker scored the game-winner with four seconds remaining after
Elizabeth Brissette tied the game with 45 seconds on the clock.

VOLLEYBALL
Columbia volleyball (4-13, 1-7 Ivy) wraps up its season series with Brown (9-8, 5-3 Ivy) and Yale (16-1, 8-0 Ivy) over the weekend, heading to Providence on Friday before traveling to New Haven on Saturday. The Lions are coming off a weekend where they hosted Cornell for its Dig Pink match. Each set was decided by two points with the Big Red coming out on top.
Noelle Foster led the way with 13 kills, hitting .333 in the process.
Ruby van der Heide had 23 assists and
Vanessa Pan recorded 21 digs.

FENCING
Fencing opens the 2022-23 season at the Temple Open for a two-day event in Philadelphia. The tournament will feature an NCAA Regional format with the top three finishers earning medals. Columbia's women will compete Saturday with the men closing out the weekend Sunday. The Lions bring back five All-Americans from a squad that placed third at the NCAA Championships last season.

WOMEN'S SOCCER
A pivotal Ivy League matchup is on deck for the women's soccer team (7-3-3, 3-1-1 Ivy) this Saturday, as the Lions head to Yale (6-5-3, 2-1-2 Ivy). Columbia is looking to keep pace and stay alive in the race for the Ivy League title. The Lions find themselves with 10 points heading into their last two matches, one point behind Harvard (3-0-2 Ivy) and three behind reigning champion Brown (4-0-1 Ivy). Columbia will face the Crimson in the 2022 season finale next Saturday. The Lions are coming off a 1-0 victory over Dartmouth last Saturday at Rocco B. Commisso Soccer Stadium.
Shira Cohen scored the game-winning goal in the 86th minute.
