Women's Swim and Dive Ready for Ivy League Championships

The Columbia women's swim team will compete at Ivies from Feb. 16-19.
NEW YORK -- The Columbia women's swim and dive team is slated to compete at the 2022 Women's Ivy League Swimming & Diving Championships at Blodgett Pool on the campus of Harvard University from Feb. 16-19. Wednesday's opening 200 medley relay will mark the return of championship-level Ivy League swim and dive following a nearly two-year hiatus as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Columbia has proven to be a strong championship contender as the Lions' produced the majority of their season's best times en route to winning the 2021 ECAC Championships.
The Ivy League provides a complete schedule, as well as live results through the Championship Central.
The following athletes will represent head coach Diana Caskey's Lions in the pool:
Isabelle Arevalo, Jr., Free
Arevalo has compiled 717.22 points for the Lions, posting personal best in the 50 free (23.21) and 100 free (51.04). The junior has swam the fastest time for the Lions this season in the 50 while collecting the third fastest result in the 100 free.
Callie Breiter, So., Free
Breiter has amassed 710.95 in her first competitive season, ranking third on the team in the 200 free (1:50.17)
Aziza Ganihanova, So., Free/Back
Ganihanova has proven to be a breakout star this season, contributing a team-best 742.95 points. The sophomore has touched the wall first in five events throughout the dual-meet season while taking the top spot in three events (500 free, 100 back, 200 back) at the ECAC Winter Championships. She has produced the Lions' top times in the 1,000 free (10:04.73), 100 back (55.32), and 200 back (1:58.23).
Hannah Hailu, Fr., Back/Fly
As a rookie Hailu has been a valuable asset to the Lions' squad, posting 680.65 total points from the pool. Hailu set a personal best time in the 200 fly (2:03.41) at the ECAC Championships, ranking fourth on the team overall.
Ashley Hu, Fr., Breast
Another first-year standout, Hu's 686.65 points are the result of the season's fastest 200 breast time (2:17.92) and the second quickest results in the 50 and 100 breast (29.98, 1:03.18).
Olivia Jubin, Jr., Free
One of Columbia's strongest swimmers, Jubin has produced 726.65 points behind top times in the 200 free (1:49.42), 50 back (26.10), and 100 IM (56.59). Additionally, the junior ranks amongst Columbia's top three swimmers in the 500 free (3rd), 1,000 free (2nd), 200 breast (3rd), 200 IM (3rd), and 400 IM (2nd).
Clare Larsen, Captain, Sr., Free
No stranger to Championship-level competition, Larsen scored for the Lions in the 100 and 200 freestyle events at the 2019 Ivy League Championships. The 688.75 point-contributor has produced the third and fourth fastest times in the 200 (1:52.12) and 100 (51.35) free, respectively.
Emily MacDonald, Fr., Free
As a first-year, MacDonald holds the Lions' second-fastest results in the 50 free (23.38) and 50 fly (25.41). She currently stands at 10th on the team in total points with 716.49.
Allison Martin, Fr., Free/IM
Martin has excelled in the individual medleys in her first season in Morningside Heights, producing personal best times in the 100 IM (59.75), 200 IM (2:03.22), and 300 IM (3:18.36) in 2022. Standing in fifth in total points (722.30), Martin's personal best result in the 200 IM is the fastest of any Columbian this season.
Tina Le, Jr., Free
Columbia's fastest 100-freestylist (49.82), Le has collected 717.50 points this season.
Jessica Peng, Jr., Fly/Free
As a junior, Peng ranks among the top three in four events, including the 50 fly (3rd), 100 fly (2nd), 200 fly (3rd), and 100 IM (2nd). On the season, she has accumulated 715.05 points.
Mary Pruden, Captain, Sr., IM/Back/Distance
A leader of Lions in and out of the pool, Pruden sits in second for total points with 731.55 this year. The North Carolina native recorded two personal bests as a senior, now ranking second in the 50 back (26.47) and 100 back (55.68).
Riley Pujadas, Fr., Back
Pujadas' 657.55 points this season are primarily the result of the rookie's backstroke prowess. She currently sits third on the team in the 100 back (56.62) and fourth in the 50 and 200 back.
Julia Unas, Fr., IM/Breast
Yet another member of Columbia's formidable first-year class, Unas holds the fifth fastest time in all three breaststroke events as well as the 200 IM. This season, she has produced 664.00 points.
Allegra Walker, So. Breast
A 717.50 point-scorer, Walker recorded the fasted times in the 50 and 100 breast (29.55, 1:02.76) while sitting in second in the 200 breast.
Emily Wang, Sr., Fly
Sixth on the team with 718.70 points, Wang leads the Lions in the 50 and 100 fly (24.98, 54.62).
Anthea Wong, Fr., Fly
Wong has been a fixture in fly events this season, producing the third fastest time in the 100 fly with a personal best time of 55.62 at the ECAC Championships. She has amassed 690.90 points this season.
Georgia Young, So., Free
Young has raced the fifth fastest times in the 50, 100, and 200 free this season, leading to a total of 689.90 points.
