Lions to Host Florida International on Saturday

Lions enter matchup with Florida International with 3-1 overall record.
HARRISON, N.Y.—The Columbia women's tennis team gets back into action on Saturday afternoon when it hosts Florida International at 1 p.m. at LifeTime Westchester.
There are several current COVID protocols at LifeTime Westchester. Spectators for the event are limited to those on a pass list. Upon entry, members and guests are required to show proof of full vaccination when checking into the facility (ages 12 and up). For youth ages 5-11, one dose is required. Masks are mandatory as per Columbia University policy. LifeTime Westchester is located at 1 Westchester Park Drive, West Harrison, N.Y. 10604.
Columbia (3-1) opened its 2021-22 spring season with back-to-back dual match wins over LIU (6-1) and Sacred Heart (7-0) last Sunday at LifeTime Westchester. The Lions then traveled to the ITA Kick-Off event in Malibu, Calif., where it lost a 4-0 first round decision to No. 7 ranked and host Pepperdine and then defeated Colorado 4-1 in the Consolation Match. With the victory, Columbia won on the second day of an ITA Kick-Off event for the first time since January 26, 2014 when it swept Tulane 4-0.
Leading the Lions in wins are Michelle Xu (9 wins), Jennifer Kerr (8), Clarine Lerby, Rachele Rimondini with seven apiece, and Akanksha Bhan, Mellisa Sakar, Anna Zhang, and Shivani Amineni with six apiece. In doubles, Kerr and Amineni have six wins, while Bhan and Zhang have four.
Florida International is on a two-match road swing to New York City where it will take on LIU on Friday and Columbia on Saturday. The Panthers enter the weekend with a 1-1 overall record following a 4-1 loss vs. Florida and a 4-2 win over Illinois in the ITA Kick-Off Weekend played in Tallahassee, Fla.
Columbia travels to Ithaca, N.Y. for the 2022 ECAC Tournament next weekend, Feb. 11-13.
