Lions Post Six Winning Marks At Sam Howell Invite

Columbia Track & Field added 18 top-five finishes in a solid day at the Sam Howell Invitational.
PRINCETON, N.J. — Columbia Track & Field locked up six victories from five different Lions to go along with 18 top-five finishes in a successful day of competition at the Sam Howell Invitational run at Weaver Stadium on a cool and sunny Saturday afternoon.
The Lion women collected four of the six top finishes, led by Tiffany Bautista who won both the high jump and long jump with first-place marks of 1.70m and 5.51m respectively. Bautisita was joined by Serena Landsman who clocked a winning time of 15.00 in the 100m hurdles and Amara Onyeukwu who crossed the line in first with a time of 55.51 in the 400m dash.
For the Lion men, Jahi Hernandez ran the second fastest 100m dash time in program history, winning the race at 10.69 seconds. In the field Nate Gramentine cleared 2.06m in the high jump to round out Columbia's winning marks.
Across the track for the women, Tessa Green (12.28) and Rachel Marsh (12.58) posted a second and fourth place finish respectively in the 100m, while Sydney Goldson finished fifth with a time of 25.19 in the 200m dash. In the 400m hurdles, Sevilla Duran finished second with a time of 1:05.84, Tess Darnell clocked a third-place time of 1:05.94 and Fredericka Walker rounded out Columbia three top five finishes in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:08.26 to finish fifth.
Columbia's final top-five finish for the women came from Alex Rodman, who finished fifth in the 800m with a time of 2:17.07.
Columbia's men collected six top-five finishes, led by Chris Balthazar who finished right behind Hernandez in the 100m with a second-place time of 10.78 and he finished third in the 200m with a time of 21.50. Justin O'Toole finished third in the 800m with a time of 1:49.58 and in the 3,000m Steeplechase the Lions got a pair of top-five finishes from Jacob Ireland (9:12.47) and Owen Lockyer (9:32.33) who finished second and fifth respectively.
