Track & Field Heads Out On Busy Weekend

Columbia Track & Field will take part in three different events, in the busiest weekend of the outdoor season.
PRINCETON, N.J./AUBURN, Ala./STORRS, Conn. — With the outdoor season in full swing, Columbia Track & Field heads out on its busiest weekend of the season, sending Lions to three different competitions, going as far as Auburn for the War Eagle Invite, while staying in the Northeast for the Larry Ellis Invite at Princeton and the UConn Northeast Challenge with all three competitions running from Friday, Apr. 15-Saturday, Apr. 16.
The Larry Ellis Invite (Princeton) and the War Eagle Invite (Auburn) gets rolling at 2 p.m. on Friday, and the UConn Northeast Challenge is set to get going at 11 a.m.
LAST TIME OUT: The Lions put together a solid weekend (Apr. 8-9) at the Mets Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted on Randall's Island at Icahn Stadium, collecting five wins between the men and women, to go along with 19 top-five finishes in a successful weekend in both track and field events for the Lions.
The Columbia women collected three wins, while the men added a pair with three wins on the track and two wins in the field.
For the Lion women, the event victories came from Sydney Goldson, who finished first in the 400m dash with a time of 56.47, Alex Rodman, who clocked her 800m run in 2:17.64 and Anna Jordahl-Henry, who cleared 1.67m in the high jump to give the Columbia their three wins.
On the men's side, the wins came from Matt Wabunoha, who finished the 110m Hurdles in 14.89 and from Nate Gramentine, who leaped 1.95m in the high jump to win the event.
