WORCESTER, Mass.—Columbia's Heavyweight program competed in three events at the Alumni Cup held Saturday at Worcester, Mass. The Lions took on heavyweight teams from Dartmouth, Holy Cross, and MIT. Conditions included a strong tailwind while winds were 17 miles per hour with gusts.
 
The Lions placed second in First Varsity 8 with a 5:59.77 time and defeated both MIT and Holy Cross. Dartmouth won the race in 5:46.9. In the Second Varsity 8, the Lions took second place at 6:14.1, placing second to Dartmouth and defeating Holy Cross and MIT. Columbia's Third Varsity 8 finished fourth in the race in 6:29.26.
 
Up next for the Heavyweights are races against Penn and Princeton for the Childs Cup. Both will be contested at Columbia's home facility, Overpeck Park, in Leonia, N.J.
