NEW YORK - Columbia heavyweight rowing will host the Childs Cup Regatta this Saturday, April 12, at Overpeck Park against Princeton and Penn. The Lions will race just in the varsity and second varsity eight heats with the Tigers and Quakers competing in three more events.
Childs Cup History
The Childs Cup is presented by George M. Childs and is rowed for annually by Princeton, Penn and Columbia. The Tigers lead the all-time series, winning the Childs Cup 53 times to the Quakers' 44 and the Lions' 12. Princeton will strive to win the Childs Cup for the 13th straight season. The Childs Cup was most recently raced for on Apr. 13, 2024, at Lake Carnegie, with the Tigers winning it for the 12th time in a row.
Last Time Out
The Lions' varsity eight won its 19th straight Collins Cup with a 15.5-second win over Rutgers at Overpeck Park. The second varsity eight also defeated the Scarlet Knights by over 20 seconds.
