LAST TIME OUT: The Lions come into the Ivy League weekend having taken down Wagner, 10-2, in a seven inning midweek match up that happened because of the canceled game at Monmouth due to the weather on Wed., Apr. 6.
Â
INSIDE THE SERIES: Columbia and Brown will meet for the 131st time when they meet for the three-game series. The Lions won the last series, taking two out of three in 2019 and the last time the Lions visited the Bears they swept the weekend series. Over the last 16 games, the Lions have won 15, including a 13-game winning streak from 2014-18.
Â
WHAT THE BEARS BRING: Brown enters the weekend having won their midweek match up with Holy Cross (3-0) on Apr. 5, and they won their last Ivy League game, a 7-5 win over Harvard. The Bears are yet to take an Ivy League series this season.
Â
QUICK WAGNER WIN: After having Wednesday's game at Monmouth canceled due to the weather, the Lions were able to put together a quick home game with Wagner, who had their own game canceled and made the trip up from Staten Island.
Â
The Lions got a big three-run home run from
Joshua Solomon to break it open in the fifth and added a solid four-inning winning start from
Billy Black. The game only went seven innings due to darkness, with Columbia leading 10-2 at the time the umpires called the game.
Â
NATIONALLY FAST: Columbia has been extremely aggressive on the base paths all season and the numbers reflect that. The Lions have racked up 42 total stolen bases and are averaging 1.8 stolen bases per game
Â
Nationally they rank 39th in stolen bases per game and 57th in total stolen bases. And sit second in the Ivy League in both categories.
Â
BROOMS ARE IVY: Columbia swept the Princeton Tigers for their first Ivy League weekend sweep since 2019 when they swept Yale. The Lions used another comeback to take the first game, before dominating the Tigers over the next two games to complete the sweep.
Â
DOUBLING UP PRINCETON: Columbia smashed 18 doubles over the three weekend games against Princeton. In the second game, the Lions crushed 10 doubles. A school record since 2007, giving Columbia the most doubles, they've had in a game in at least 15 seasons.
Â
EJ LOVES NEW YORK: Only having 12 at bats at home,
EJ Kreutzmann has really enjoyed his time at Robertson Field at Satow Stadium, hitting .583 with 10 RBIs 2 2B and a home run. Over the past weekend, Kreutzmann really got it done, hitting .500 with 5 RBIs and scoring two runs while only getting eight at-bats.

Sean Higgins in the opening game of the weekend.
Â
WHAT A COMEBACK: In Columbia's second game of Saturday's doubleheader (Mar. 26) against Penn the Lions completed one of the best comebacks in recent memory, storming back from six runs down to win the game. Columbia got a three-run home run from
Skye Selinsky in the eighth inning to pull the Lions within one run, 10-9, and it set up the bottom of the ninth.
Â
Jack Cooper led off the inning with a pinch-hit home run and next stepped-up
Austin Mowrey, who smashed one over the center field wall to walk-it off for the Lions. The walk-off win was the first via a home run for the Lions since 2013 and it was the first time since 2018 that the Lions hit back-to-back home runs.

Boretti's 172 Ivy League wins and .600 winning percentage in conference play are both program benchmarks.
