PROBABLE PITCHING MATCHUPS:
GM1: Joe Sheets: 2-1 5.23 ERA (RHP/COL) – Nathan Skinner: 5-4 5.92 ERA (RHP/DART)
GM2: Andy Leon: 3-0 2.79 ERA (RHP/COL) – Trystan Sarcone: 5-3 4.55 ERA (LHP/DART)
GM3: Sean Higgins: 3-3 7.40 ERA (RHP/COL) – Justin Murray: 4-3 7.57 ERA (RHP/DART)

COLUMBIA'S STATUS: With a spot in the ILPS already secured and a chance to clinch the regular season title, Columbia enters its final regular season weekend at Dartmouth with a 19-game winning streak, the longest current streak in the country and two wins away from clinching the outright Ivy League Championship.

INSIDE THE SERIES: Columbia and Dartmouth have met 193 times entering the weekend, with the Big Green holding an 110-83 advantage in the series that goes back to 1901.  The Lions took the last series the two played, in 2019 and Columbia last won at Dartmouth in 2018.

WHAT THE BIG GREEN BRING: Dartmouth, who still has an outside shot at reaching the ILPS, come in having won their previous game vs. Manhattan and they won their last Ivy League weekend, taking two-out-of-three from Harvard.

CONTROLLING DESTINY: Columbia controls its own destiny in terms of clinching the Ivy League Championship and hosting the ILPS, sitting two wins away, but they can get some help from Princeton if they beat Penn:

SCENARIO ONE
If Columbia wins the first two games, they move to 18-2. Worst they can finish at is 18-3. Columbia clinches: Columbia earns outright champion on Saturday.

SCENARIO TWO
Columbia wins one of the first two games of the series, they move to 17-3. Worst they can finish at is 17-4.  If Penn loses at least one of the first two games of the series, the best they can get to is 16-5: Columbia earns the outright champion on Saturday.

If Penn wins both of the first two games of the series, they move to 16-4, best they can finish at is 17-4: No champion is determined on Saturday, need to wait until Sunday.

If Columbia wins the final game of the series (finishing 2-1), they move to 18-3: Columbia earns the outright champion on Sunday. Regardless of what Penn does.

If Columbia loses the final game of the series (finishing 1-2), they move to 17-4. If Penn loses any games of their series, the best they can get to is 16-5: Columbia earns outright champion on Sunday.

STREAKING LIONS: Columbia currently holds the longest winning streak in the country, at 19 games, and its 15 consecutive Ivy League victories is an Ivy League record.  The Lions sit three victories away from the Ivy League's longest stretch of winning in history, which sits at 21 games.

SWEEPING CORNELL: In Columbia's last games they swept Cornell, their fifth straight Ivy League weekend sweep, from Apr. 30-May 1, outscoring the Big Red 23-10.  The Lions snagged an 11-5 win to end the weekend and win the final game played at the 100-year-old Hoy Field.

BLACK PITCHES THE LEAGUE: Black won Columbia's second pitcher of the week award with his 2.3 innings of work, where he recorded the save and added 10 strikeouts over a pair of appearances.  Black joins Joe Sheets in winning pitcher of the week honors, the first time that's happened for the Lions since 2014.

Schott has also collected 63 total bases and sits in second place in the Ivy books for total bases in a conference season, needing four to tie the record and five to break it.

RECORD SETTING WIN: With its 9-4 win in the final midweek game of the season at Army, Columbia won its 16th consecutive game, setting a program record for consecutive wins.

The Lions enter the weekend with the longest current winning streak in the country.

BLAKE HAS FIVE: In a dominating show at the dish, Andy Blake had a career-day against Army (Apr. 27), going 5-for-5 with three doubles and three RBIs.  Blake became the first Lion to get at least five hits since Liam McGill at North Florida in 2019.

TOP OF THE LEAGUE: Columbia's 16-2 record in the Ivy League has them sitting first in the league with three league games remaining.  They sit two games ahead of Penn in the win column and have four games over Dartmouth in the loss column.  Columbia's 26-13 overall record is also second best in the league.

SCORING IVY RUNS ... LOTS OF IVY RUNS: Over the 15 game Ivy League winning streak the Lions have been outscoring their opponents by 99 runs, scoring 166 runs, while allowing only 67 over the last 15 league games.

HITTING NATIONALLY: The Lions' hitting has put them in the top 50 nationally in several offensive categories, sitting 17th in slugging percentage, 25th in batting average, 23rd in scoring, and 37th in home runs per game.

NATIONALLY FAST: Nationally ranked 26th in stolen bases per game and 44th in total stolen bases, Columbia sits first in stolen bases and second in stolen bases per game in the Ivy League.

THIS CATCHER CAN SCOOT: Weston Eberly has shown some power and speed during Columbia's 39 games, smacking four triples over that stretch.  He ranks fourth nationally in total triples and his triples per game average puts him 23rd in the nation.  Eberly is also tied for the second most triples by a catcher in the country.

WERESKI IS ROYAL: Former Lion pitcher, Ben Wereski '20CC was signed by the Kansas City Royals organization on Apr. 14.  Wereski will pitch for the Lincoln Saltdogs of the American Association of Professional Baseball.

THE BIG 300: Brett Boretti reached the 400-win plateau last season and during Columbia's home opening win over Manhattan on Mar. 23, he got his 300th win with the Lions.  He sits second all-time, with Boretti making the move up from third in Columbia's weekend at Davidson.  Boretti became only the second coach in program history to ever reach the 300-win milestone.

Boretti's 184 Ivy League wins and .613 winning percentage in conference play are both program benchmarks.

PRESEASON PICKS: Columbia was picked to finish second in the Ivy League preseason poll. The Lions, who tied with Yale for the most first-place votes at five, finished six points ahead of Penn, who were picked to finish third.
