NEW YORK — Columbia Baseball (29-16) has added a game ahead of NCAA Regionals, agreeing to host Army (31-22) on Sunday, May 29 with first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m., meaning the 2022 Ivy League Champions will get one more chance to play at Robertson Field at Satow Stadium before heading off to the postseason.
Columbia, who won the Ivy League Playoff Series over Penn, last played on Sunday, May 22 when they swept the deciding doubleheader at Penn to punch their tickets to the NCAA Regionals. Army comes into the game having won the Patriot League on Thursday, May 26, beating Bucknell in the final game of the Patriot League Tournament to take that series in three games.
The Lions and Black Knights met during the regular season, where Columbia made the trip up to West Point, N.Y., on Apr. 27. For Columbia the win was historic, breaking the program record for consecutive wins beating Army, 9-4, for the 16th straight win in what would eventually stretch to a 19-game winning streak.
SELECTION MONDAY: Columbia will find out, on Monday, May 30 at 12 p.m., what NCAA Regional they will be headed too and who they will meet there. The show will be broadcast on ESPN2 and can be watched on the WatchESPN app.
