Men's Swimming and Diving Continues Ivy Season Against Princeton and Yale

Lions will take on Princeton on Friday in New Jersey, Yale on Saturday at Uris
NEW YORK — The Columbia men's swimming and diving program will continue its Ivy League season this weekend, with a back-to-back set against Princeton and Yale. The Lions will square off against the Tigers on Friday at 5:00 p.m. before returning home to host the Bulldogs at Percy Uris Natatorium on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
The men began their Ivy League season with a 161-125 victory over the Penn Quakers at Uris last Friday afternoon.
SCOUTING PRINCETON
The Tigers are off to a hot start to begin the 2023-24 season, winning their first two dual meets of the season. Most recently, Princeton defeated Dartmouth by a score of 215-84.
Last season, the Tigers finished the season with a 7-3 overall record and a 5-2 record in Ivy League competitions. The Lions defeated the Tigers in their one matchup by a score of 155-145. Princeton went on to be the runner up at the 2022-23 Ivy League Championships, finishing second to Harvard.
Last season, the Tigers had five qualify for the NCAA Championships. The group included Raunak Khosla, Nic Lim, George Callanan, Taso Callanan, and Joe Victor.
SCOUTING YALE
The Bulldogs have their first official meet of the 2023-24 season against the Lions on Saturday, most recently participating in an exhibition against UMass.
Last season, Yale went 6-3 overall with a 4-3 Ivy League record. The Bulldogs and Columbia squared off in what was possibly the most thrilling meet of the season for both teams, with the Lions squeaking out a 151-149 victory. Yale went on to finish in third place at the Ivy League Championships in February behind Princeton and Harvard.
The Lions are 3-0 against Yale in their last three meetings.
ON DECK
Columbia will host the Harvard Crimson on Friday, November 17 at Uris. The meet is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m.

Adam Wu had a strong day for the men, winning three events. Wu won the 200-free with a time of 1:41.45, the 200-fly with a time of 1:49.38, and the 500-free with a time of 4:32.09.
Stanford Li also won multiple events for the men, taking the 100-back with a time of 49.82 and the 200-back with a time of 1:47.95.
Other event winners for the men included Zach Vasser (0:29.87 - 1000-free), Zion James (50-free - 20.71), Noah Czelusta (100-free - 45.81), Brian Lee (100-fly - 48.26), and Beri Yang (200-IM - 1:51.67).
