PRINCETON, N.J. – Columbia softball pitcher
Raquel Reyes was recognized as the Pitcher of the Week in the latest Ivy League softball weekly awards.
Reyes played an integral part in Columbia's sweep over Cornell this weekend as she tossed two complete games. She finished the weekend with a 1.62 ERA and added two wins to improve to 8-6 in the circle this season.
The junior right-hander from Placentia, California got the weekend started with an 8.0 inning complete game as she helped guide the Lions to the win.
Georgia Corey capped off the win with a walk-off home run in the bottom of the eighth inning. Reyes allowed just three runs on six hits as she recorded four strikeouts.
Reyes wrapped up the weekend with a five-inning complete game on Sunday as the Lions rolled to a 9-0 run-rule victory. Reyes allowed two hits in 5.0 innings of work to polish off her second win of the weekend.
"I am beyond impressed and proud of the growth that Rocky has possessed these last few weeks," Columbia Softball Head Coach
Jennifer Teague said. "She has continued to get better and more consistent. It is awesome to see her earning this award this week."

Bubba Gleaves and first-year
Georgia Corey were named to this week's Ivy League Honor Roll. Gleaves batted .556 over the weekend as she was 5-for-9 at the plate with two doubles and three runs. Corey was 4-for-9 at the dish as she belted three home runs over the weekend, accounting for six RBI. Corey took over as the team's home run leader with the weekend performance.
The Lions are back in action this weekend to wrap up the regular season schedule. Columbia will travel to Harvard for a 12:30 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday. The series will wrap up with a 12:30 p.m. first pitch Sunday. Columbia sits in third place in the Ivy League standings behind Princeton and Harvard. The top four teams will play in the Ivy League Tournament in May.
