JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Victoria Patterson punched her ticket to the NCAA Outdoor Championships on Saturday evening, placing third in the 3000m steeplechase at the NCAA Eastern Prelims hosted at the University of North Florida. In the quarterfinals, Patterson needed to finish in the top-12 in order to advance, and she did so rather easily clocking in with a time of 9:57.65.

Phoebe Anderson also had an incredible performance in the 5000m run, but unfortunately missed out on qualifying for the NCAA Championships by less than half a second. She finished in 15th place with a time of 16:04.54, while the last qualifying spot was taken by Faith Demars of Penn State who clocked in at 16:04.06. 

Jacob Ireland had the best individual performance for the men, finishing in 37th in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 9:12.56. 

The men's 4x400m relay team consisting of Devon Davey, Haydn Brotschi, Max Comfere, and Jahi Hernandez placed 19th with a time of 3:11.72.

Patterson will advance to compete in the 3000m steeplechase at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Austin, Texas. The meet is set to begin on Wednesday, June 7 and will run through Saturday, June 10. the semifinals of the 3000m steeplechase are currently set for 8:02 p.m. on Thursday, June 8. If Patterson qualifies, the 3000m steeplechase finals will be held on Saturday, June 10 at 8:24 p.m.
