
Women’s Tennis Earns 2022-23 ITA Academic Honors

12 Lions were recognized as ITA Division I Scholar-Athletes
NEW YORK – Following the completion of the 2022-23 season, the Columbia women's tennis program has been recognized as a Division I All-Academic Team by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). In addition to the team honor, 12 women's tennis student-athletes were honored as Division I Scholar-Athletes.
As part of the 2022-23 squad, Shivani Amineni, Carolyn Brodsky, Julia Haynes, Fatima Keita, Clarine Lerby, Rachele Rimondini, Sophia Strugnell, Winta Tewolde, Michelle Xu, Sophia Wang, Anna Zhang and Tatiana Ziff capped off the season by being named ITA Division I Scholar-Athletes.
To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must maintain a team grade point average of 3.2 or above with all current varsity athletes' marks factored in to the cumulative result. Scholar-athletes must possess a minimum GPA of 3.5 for the academic year.
Within the sport of tennis, student-athletes continue to exceed expectations in the classroom and on the court. In 2023, 1,513 Division I Women's student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, and 234 women's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.
