Lions look for first Ivy League win of the year
NEW YORK — Columbia field hockey hosts Penn on Friday at 4 p.m. at Columbia Field Hockey Complex.

Columbia's Status
The Lions (3-5, 0-2) are coming off a 1-0 win over Rider last Sunday at home. Captain Lindsey Yu netted the lone goal of the game off a penalty corner with 1:34 left in the first quarter to put Columbia in front. Maya Walker and Anabelle Brodeur were each credited with an assist.
Columbia goalkeeper Katie Wimmer made three saves as Columbia earned its first shutout of the season. She ranks second among Ivy League goalkeepers in saves with 52 on the season.
Yu is tied for the team lead in goals (4) with Mckenzie Bloom and the two also rank tied for fourth in the Ivy League in that category. Yu leads the team with 11 points and 11 shots on goal.
Penn's Status
The Quakers (3-5, 1-0) are coming off a 4-3 loss in double overtime to No. 13 Saint Joseph's last Sunday. Penn ranks second among Ivy League teams in goals with 19, trailing Cornell.
Allison Kuzyk leads Penn with six goals and 12 points. Courtney Kenah leads the team in assists (5). Goalkeeper Frederique Wollaert has a GAA of 2.06 and a .714 save percentage this season.
Series History - Penn
Columbia is 12-14 all-time against Penn and has dropped the last two matches. The Lions' last victory came in 2019 in New York when Columbia earned a 6-5 victory in overtime.
