PHILADELPHIA – The Columbia women's tennis team wrapped up action at the Ivy League Qualifier on Sunday as senior
Winta Tewolde advanced to the singles semifinals to highlight the weekend for the Lions.

Winta Tewolde traveled to Philadelphia to represent the Columbia women's tennis team at the Ivy League Qualifier tournament. All four played singles and the four split into two teams for doubles. Tewolde teamed up with Yin, while Baek and Brodsky played together.
Tewolde's singles run was the highlight of the weekend for the Lions as she reached the singles semifinals. Tewolde earned a bye in the first round of the bracket before taking a dominant 6-2, 6-3 win over Hannah Shen (Brown) to get the weekend started. Tewolde then defeated Erin Ha (Yale) to earn a trip to the semifinals. Tewolde's run came to an end with a 6-3, 6-2 loss to Ann Wright Guerry (Yale) in the semifinals.
First-year Baek earned a first-round win in singles by defeating Elise Wong (Dartmouth), 6-3, 6-1. Brodsky and Yin were both defeated in the first round of singles. Both of Columbia's doubles teams were defeated in the first round.
