Field Hockey Drops Second Straight Overtime Decision to Penn

Lions edged by a goal for the fourth game in a row
PHILADELPHIA — Columbia field hockey was defeated in overtime at Penn, 2-1, on Friday afternoon from Ellen Vagelos Field.
The Lions (2-6, 1-2) played their third overtime game of the season and their last seven matches have been decided by a goal.
Penn's Julia Ryan put home her fourth goal of the season to give the Quakers (2-7, 1-2) the victory 8:17 into the overtime period. The Lions got shots on goal in the overtime from Lindsey Yu and Nicole Campolattaro.
Columbia was on the board first 11:28 into the second quarter when Ashley Kim deflected Campolattaro's shot into the cage. It was Kim's first goal of her career and Campolattaro's first career assist.
Penn quickly answered right before halftime off a penalty corner to make it a 1-1 game at the break.
Goalkeeper Katie Wimmer totaled 10 saves on the day, including three combined between the fourth and overtime period. The Lions had a season-high seven shots on goal. Columbia closes out a three-game road trip at Hofstra on Sunday at 1 p.m.
