NEW YORK —
Columbia women's tennis, volleyball, cross country, men's soccer, and men's golf are featured in this week's edition of Lions on the Road. Every week, GoColumbiaLions.com will be using "Lions on the Road" to preview that week's upcoming games and events happening off campus.
WOMEN'S TENNIS
10 members of the Columbia women's tennis team will travel to Philadelphia later this week for the ITA Northeast Regional Tournament hosted by Penn.

Winta Tewolde will compete in main draw singles.
Carolyn Brodsky and
Emily Baek will compete in qualifying singles with a chance to advance to the main draw. Five doubles teams will represent Columbia in the doubles main draw bracket. Action starts on Thursday and wraps up on Tuesday, October 15.

VOLLEYBALL
The Columbia volleyball team will close out its month-long road trip this weekend with two more Ivy League games against Brown and Yale. The Lions will take on the Bears in Providence on Friday at 6:00 p.m., and then square off against the Bulldogs on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. in New Haven. Brown enters the weekend with a 3-10 overall record, and winless in Ivy League play with three losses. Yale is currently 8-3 overall and undefeated in conference play with three wins. Last weekend, the Lions were swept by Dartmouth and Harvard, but they will look to bounce back this weekend.

CROSS COUNTRY
The Columbia men and women are back in action this weekend competing in the METS XC Championships hosted by NJIT in New Jersey. The Lions are coming off a solid performance at the Paul Short Run last weekend, where In the men's 8k gold race, Columbia finished in 27th place, while the women finished 26th in the brown race.
Isabella Ford paced the Lions with a 38th place finish in the women's 6k, finishing with a time of 22:32.3.
Ava Thomas was right behind her in 54th place with a time of 22:45.0.
Owen Lockyer led the men with a time of 24:42.5, good enough for 93rd place. The Lions will look to continue the momentum into this weekend.

MEN'S SOCCER
The men's soccer team (1-8-0, 1-1-0 Ivy) looks to make it back-to-back Ivy League victories on Saturday when it travels to face Dartmouth (4-4-2, 1-1-0 Ivy). The Lions pulled off their first victory of the 2024 season by defeating Yale, 1-0, last Saturday at Rocco B. Commisso Soccer Stadium. Sophomore defender
Jackson ten Oever scored the game-winning goal in the 81st minute, set up by a corner sent in from
Peter Chang and a headed pass from
Rafa Romo. ten Oever went on to be named Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts, which included bolstering the Columbia back line to its first shutout victory. The Lions traveled to Villanova on Tuesday for their non-conference finale, putting together an exciting performance and scoring a season-high two goals but ultimately falling to the Wildcats, 3-2. Villanova's game-winning goal came in the final minute after Columbia had tied the game back up in the 87th minute. Saturday's matchup at Dartmouth will be the 65th meeting in series history. Three of the last four in the series have ended in a draw.

MEN'S GOLF
The men's golf team concludes its fall 2024 tournament schedule on Monday and Tuesday at the Georgetown Intercollegiate. The event will be held at Echo Lake Country Club in Westfield, New Jersey. Twelve teams will be competing, which include Columbia, host Georgetown, Princeton, Saint Joseph's, Loyola Maryland, Towson, William & Mary, George Mason, Delaware, Villanova, Penn and Campbell. live scoreboard powered by Clippd leading up to the event for Columbia's lineup and tee times. The Lions are coming off a tournament victory two weeks ago in the Columbia Autumn Invitational at Lake Placid Golf Club. They entered the final round with an eight-shot lead on Dartmouth and fought off the Big Green's Sunday charge, winning by three shots with a tournament total of 16-under-par 836. Junior
George Rubelsky finished second individually with a career-best 8-under-par 205, which included a career-low round of 7-under 64.
