Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Continue Seasons this Weekend

The men host Princeton on Friday at 1 pm; The women host Yale on Friday at 5 p.m.
NEW YORK — The Columbia men's and women's swimming and diving programs continue the 2024-25 season this weekend, beginning on Friday at Percy Uris Natatorium. First up, the men will host Princeton on Friday at 1 p.m. Next, the women will host Yale on Friday at 5 p.m. The men will close out the weekend with a meet against Yale in New Haven on Saturday at 1 p.m.
Spectators without a valid Columbia University ID or a registered QR code must enter the Uris Swim Center Balcony through the Northwest Science Building at W120th & Broadway. A Columbia Athletics staff member will be stationed at the Northwest Science Building entrance on the corner of Broadway and W120th Street starting at noon on Friday to provide wristbands for campus entry.
LAST TIME OUT
The men opened the season with a 188-111 win over Penn last Friday at Uris. Zion James had an incredible start to the season winning four events on the day. Gian Santos picked up two wins in his collegiate debut for the Lions.
The women opened the year with a 164-136 loss to Penn last Friday at Uris. Emily MacDonald had an incredible start to her senior season, winning three events including a sweep of the sprinting events. In the process, she set a pool record with a time of 49.69 in the 100-free.

The order of events for the men's meet: 3M diving, 200 medley relay, 1000 freestyle, 200 freestyle, 100 backstroke, 100 breaststroke, 200 butterfly, 50 freestyle, 1M diving, 100 freestyle, 200 backstroke, 200 breaststroke, 500 freestyle, 100 butterfly - 10min break - 200 individual medley, 400 freestyle relay

SCOUTING PRINCETON MEN
The Princeton men are 2-0 so far this season, with wins over Brown and Dartmouth. Patrick Denu had an incredible start to his career with his Tigers, already setting a program and freshman record with times in the freestyle events. Last year, Princeton finished 8-3 overall with a 6-1 mark in the Ivy League, including a 202-95 win over Columbia. The Tigers would go on to finish second at the Ivy League Championships.

The Yale women have gotten off to a 2-0 start to the season, with wins coming over Miami and Brown. In the win over the Bears, Jessey Li and Hayden Henderson each won three events to help lead the team to the victory. Last year, the Bulldogs finished with an 8-2 overall record and 5-2 mark in the Ivy League, including a 201-99 win over the Lions. Yale would go on to finish third at the Ivy League Championships.
