HOPKINTON, N.H. —
Phoebe Anderson qualified for her fourth consecutive NCAA Cross Country Championship on Friday morning, finishing in second place in the women's 6k at NCAA East Regionals with a time of 19:31.48. In addition, Anderson received All-Region honors.
Talha Syed led the men with a 12th place finish, clocking in at 30:15.20. While finishing short of NCAA Championship qualification, Syed was recognized with NCAA All-Region honors.
This year's competition was held in New Hampshirem hosted by UMass Lowell at Hopkinton State Fairgrounds. As a team, the men finished ninth with a score of 286, while the women finished 10th with a score of 295.
Both the men's team and the women's team had some solid performances outside of the individuals receiving hardware.
Rory Clare finished 42nd for the women with a time of 20:56.66, and
Matt Gatune clocked in at 31:10.81 to place 52nd for the men.

Next up for the Lions, Anderson will head to Masison, Wisconsin to compete in the NCAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday, November 23. The meet is scheduled to begin at 10:20 a.m.
