CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Columbia women's tennis team found some success this weekend while competing against players from Boston College and Brown as part of the Harvard Fall Invitational.
Columbia sent
Sophia Strugnell,
Amber Yin,
Emily Baek and
Sophia Wang to compete in Cambridge this weekend. The Lions had a strong showing on day one Friday. The duo of Strugnell and Yin defeated Seren Agar and Nada Dimovska (Boston College), 6-4. Columbia's other doubles team of Baek and Wang defeated Muskan Mahajan and Nadia Barteck (Boston College), 7-5.
The four Lions also each earned singles victories in matches against Boston College. Wang defeated Mahajan in three sets, while Baek also won in three sets over Barteck. Yin and Strugnell both won their matches in straight sets.
Columbia played matches against Brown on the second day of competition Saturday. Brown won both doubles matches and two of the singles matches. Wang and Baek both earned wins in singles play to wrap up the weekend.
