The women finished the 2023-24 season with a 3-4 overall record in dual meets, all of which were Ivy League contests. The Lady Lions also came away with a first place finish at the ECAC Winter Championships in early December. Columbia would go on to finish in sixth place at the Ivy League Championships.
The men concluded the 2023-24 season with an overall record of 4-5 in dual meets, and 4-3 within the Ivy League. The Lions went on to finish in sixth place at the Ivy League Championships in late February.
KEY RETURNERS
The men return a pair of swimmers who won Ivy League Championships over the course of their careers. Demirkan Demir won two Ivy League gold medals in 2023, winning the 100-breast and 200-breast competitions, while qualifying for the NCAA Championships in both events in the process where he would finish 23rd and 20th, respectively. Adam Wu also returns for his junior campaign after winning gold in the 1000-free at the 2023 Ivy League Championships two seasons ago. Combined, Demir and Wu hold over five Columbia program records.
The women are lucky to return multiple top-performers from last year's team. Emily MacDonald headlines this group, and she will be searching for her first Ivy League Championship this season having already claimed over four Columbia program records (including the 50-free).
The divers also return a solid group, with Joseph Nicol leading the way for the men and Macy Pine leading the way for the women. Pine currently holds the program record in the platform diving competition.
