NEW YORK - The Columbia lacrosse team returns home on Saturday afternoon after four games away from New York City and will resume Ivy League play against the Brown Bears. First draw is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Robert K. Kraft Field as the Lions will look to earn their first conference win of the season.
LAST TIME OUT
Last time out, the Lions struggled to get anything going on the offensive end against the UCONN Huskies. Columbia lost on Wednesday, 17-1, against Connecticut.
However, the Lions' last home game was one to remember. Columbia earned one of the biggest wins of the past few seasons, taking down a highly touted Villanova team that was picked to finish third in the conference in the 2024 Big East Preseason Poll. It was the Lions' first win over the Wildcats in program history.

SCOUTING BROWN
Despite being picked seventh in the Ivy League Preseason Poll, Brown is off to an incredible start to the 2024 season. The Bears enter Saturday's game with a 6-2 overall record, with a win over #22 UMass and an Albany team that received votes for the top-25.
One of Brown's two losses came by a score of 16-15 to #8 Notre Dame, and its other loss was in its first Ivy League game of the season to RV Harvard (also by one goal).
Last season, the Bears went 6-8, and 3-4 in the Ivy League. The Lions took on Brown in Providence last season, with the Bears coming out on top 19-8.
So far this season, Mia Mascone leads Brown with 37 goals and 53 points. Lily Hagerup has a team-high 11 caused turnovers. Paige Gillen is a problem in the draw circle, tallying 38 draw controls so far this year.
