NEW YORK – The No. 38 Columbia women's tennis team opens the Ivy League schedule at home Saturday against Cornell. First serve is set for 12 p.m. at the Philip and Cheryl Milstein Family Tennis Center.

CLOSING OUT THE NON-CONFERENCE SCHEDULE
Columbia is 12-3 overall entering the start of conference play. The Lions closed out their non-conference slate with wins over Rice and Tulsa during the team's trip to Houston earlier this month. Columbia has won three of its past four matches with the loss coming on the road to No. 64 Charlotte.
The Lions have defeated three Ivy League foes so far this season as Columbia claimed the 2024 ECAC title. Columbia cruised past Dartmouth and Brown before winning a 4-3 battle against Yale in the championship match.
COLUMBIA IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
Columbia's best ITA ranking this season came on February 27 when the Lions earned the No. 25 spot. The ranking marked the second time in program history Columbia has been ranked in the Top 25.
The Lions now sit at No. 38 and remain as the highest-ranked Ivy League team in the ITA poll. There are currently four Ivy teams ranked inside the Top 50, including No. 45 Yale, No. 48 Princeton and No. 50 Harvard.
SCOUTING CORNELL
Cornell sits at 7-8 overall entering the Ivy schedule. The Big Red have won their past four matches, posting victories over Buffalo, Delaware, Drexel and St. Bonaventure. In their last match, the Big Red earned a 7-0 sweep over St. Bonaventure.
THE SERIES
Cornell leads the all-time series against Columbia, 20-18. The Lions have won three of the last four matches and 10 of the last 14 meetings dating back to 2011. Columbia posted a 5-2 win in Ithaca last season, while Cornell's most recent win came in 2022 in New York City.
